2 1/4" thermal paper rolls — also referred to as 58mm thermal paper — are the standard receipt paper size for most credit card terminals and mobile payment printers. If your business uses a countertop payment terminal or a wireless card reader, this is almost certainly the paper it requires.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 2 1/4" the same as 58mm? Yes. 2.25 inches converts to approximately 57.15mm, which rounds to the industry-standard 58mm designation. Both terms refer to the same roll width.

How do I know if 2 1/4" paper fits my terminal? Check the paper compartment door of your terminal — most credit card terminals display the paper width on the inside of the cover. You can also check your terminal's model number against the compatibility list above.
